Hello

Hello there

I joined this forum a little while ago but haven't really posted anything yet. I thought it was time to say hello. Like a lot of others, I have been (still am in fact) a member of another forum. Main reason for coming here was because this is where most of the people whose guidance/views I look out for are posting. I suppose you could say it's more pull than push.

Anyway, I soon hope to do a little project with an old servant's bell board which had been festering in an old stable (now my workshop) at my house. I tidied it up a bit a couple of years ago, but want to do a better job of it. There will be a little bit of woodwork, but also some modern technology thrown in (arduinos, relays and the like). My plan is to do a little WIP for anyone who is interested.

By way of a disclaimer and to avoid get anyone's hopes up, I know less about electronics and computers than I do about making things with wood, which is not very much at all!

Thanks

Nick (North Hampshire)

Welcome Nick,
All projects welcome here. Pictures are vital and saves a lot of typing!
As well as wood butchers, we do have the odd member here with electronic interests.

Welcome Nick. You'll enjoy it here, I'm sure.

Be prepared for lots of electronic advice when you start your project. There are a number of people here who know what they're talking about. My recent TV lifter project involved a whole lot of advice which may as well have been written in Russian for all I could understand of it! :) If you're employing an Arduino then you're way ahead of me, and should be capable of receiving the benefits of their experience and knowledge.

There's a pesky little 3 post thing to keep spammers out. After that, posting is just normal.

Thanks for the welcome.

Will certainly post some photos when I’ve figured out how to do that (I see there are some useful guides for that).

Hello and welcome, it’s not my thread but I’ll say it anyway, to all new arrivals if you could put yourselves on the map that would be helpful for everybody.
Me? I’m just nosy so if everybody could put their county (Country in some cases) on their name plate? Handy also. Cheers Ian
