Looking good :) .

Make sure you retain substantial bridges on the wolf's tail where it joins the main body and you'll be fine.

Thanks Malc

Thanks Gill.
This is my first attempt at internal cutting.
Still need to get comfortable in the loosening of the blade to feed through the hole and getting the blade fitted straight again. Only broke 1 blade cutting the templates,

Changing blade sizes is easy - I have 2 sets of blade holders 8-)

Well done Phil. If it were me I would take the easy way out and cut the inner circles that the serviete goes through with a forstner bit or similar.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers

Andy, that thought had crossed my mind. I have forstners big enough for that, but then it starts looking 'machine made'.

My forstners range from 10mm to 40mm. Expensive collection. :o

The first 4 cut and sanded.
Being crap-SA-Pine it requires a lot more sanding than a hardwood.

These will get the glue and water sealing.

The mouse, all the internal lines were cut with a #3 blade.

The wolf actually was a lot easier to cut at the end of the day.
Cut around the outline of the all the sharp points, then go back and cut out the 'V''s
The internal small cuts with a #3 blade

The menagerie so far

The DIL prefers the natural wood colour as opposed to them being painted with acrylics.
So they will just get some clear PU sanding sealer.

Here are some animals cut from Beech.
Looks good, clean cut, just needs sanding

But, don’t let the wrapper fool you!

I have some small pieces of Beech veneer, which I glued onto both sides of the pine.

The back had a coat of glue+water mix to seal. Less fluffy burrs.
