I’ve got an Ooni 3 wood fired oven. It’s brilliant. Use it loads over the summer, great to get the kids involved making the dough and the pizzas. There is a knack to getting it right though for perfect pizza. Only problem is I eat far too much pizza!!

Maybe it's a good pizza oven, who knows? Not me because to stop myself punching the laptop screen I had to fast forward through the whole video in about 10 seconds!

Ah I see what everyone’s beef is now, I didn’t bother with the video. He makes a pigs ear of the pizza too I think.

Friend of mine has one and they’re not bad at all. This guy gets on my breasts so isn’t the best advert for it but if you like pizza and haven’t the space for a wood fired oven or the time to wait for one to heat up then they fill a hole and do it well.

My one uses wood pellets and is good to go in less than ten mins after lighting. As I said the problem is I then eat way too much pizza!

My gas Weber braai is large enough to fit the round pizza stone, which comes with a stand and handles.

The first effort were frisbees, slightly over heated and over cooked

Can't beat an inflatable beach ball and some mud. Did me for making pizza and bread and stew and pie for nearly 20 years when I was deployed in the field.

Surely the beach ball will burst in the heat...

I've used one as purchased by a g/f. They definitely work, but they need constant attention and if you are doing say 4 pizzas for family and kids, then it is a bit tedious, as they do not cook evenly so you are always turning them and there is only enough space to do one at a time. They also get through Calor like it is going out of fashion.

It's on my jobs list at home to make a proper wood fired outdoor pizza oven, which will be large enough to do a couple of pizzas, piers or chickens.

Currently my outdoor pizza oven is an XL Big Green Egg with ceramic drop in cooking surface. This takes 20 minutes to get to temperature, but will cook two or at a pinch 3 pizzas at a time in about 90 seconds and with no turning or messing about. Takes practice though as it is easy to burn them with a moments inattention to the timer.
Don't like: wood, engines, electrickery, decorating, tiling, laying stone, plumbing, gardening or any kind of DIY. Not wild about spiders either.

I guess one of the advantages of living up here that the weather guarantees that we NEVER have to worry about outdoor cooking !
