Yep. And WD40, although it doesn't last an awfully long time. Also, a bike chain lube works.

Dave R wrote:Might be worth looking at the way the hinges are aligned. Typically hinges squeak because the axis of the hinge pin and barrels aren't aligned with the axis of rotation. Lubricating works for awhile but I don't think it's a long term solution. Try loosing the screws on the squeaky hinge a little and see if you can adjust the alignment so it stops squeaking. I've done that for a few of the hinges in our house and haven't had to oil any of them since. Shows how the house as settled a bit over time.
