Musical Instrument Topic/Group (whatever you call it )

Postby Malc2098 » 02 Apr 2021, 21:05

Mods,

There are several WIPs ongoing at the moment, and a couple past, of musical instruments.

Would it be appropriate for this type of woodworking project to have it's own topic/group or whatever they're called? :)

TIA.

Personally I'm not in favour of adding more forum sections.

What I have seen done before elsewhere is a sticky topic that sits at the top of the section and has an index of threads with title/description and links to click through. That may need a volunteer to look after it though ;)

Also dislike specialised sections, people end up only looking in their own special subject and the forum gets no cross referencing.

Not difficult to rename the threads a s Musical WIPs and leave them among the other stuff.

Malc, I tend to agree with Robert. Where would we stop if we started a specific board for one particular genre?*
Admittedly the some of the skills and techniques used by instrument makers are unique but there are also jigs and methods employed that could be transferred outside of instrument making.
By making a specific board may put off visitors to WH2 to browse and learn.
I do not think therefore I do not am.

cheers
