• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

8mm diamond drill bit recommendations sought

The best masonry core drills I have used were Armeg, made in the UK too. https://armeg.com/ I’ve not used anything as small as 8mm though but these have done through at least half a dozen walls.

    Probably Bye for now...

In my defence we have been waiting nearly 5 years for the authorities ( regular ping pong between the infrastructure provider, the ISP and local mairie have left us exhausted ) to dig up the road and free the blockage that prevents a cable being fed from the pole to our house. Even then more...

    Probably Bye for now...

Might be a while before you can read this Steve. We got fed up with cable fed interweb supply during last autumns storms which took the cables down. Power was sorted in few days but comms took weeks. We are now with Starlink and have no complaints. Standard residential 100mbs service 39€ after...

Dunno the answer but your images highlight why the same ruler should be used to make all the measurements on a project.

If there was one hand tool which you would like to see made again.

I’ve yet to find a “real tool shop” here. Prices here from the online suppliers means my frequent visits to the UK mean I can click and collect from friends and family there. There are even online tool stores that will only supply to trade customers; confirmed with a SIRET number (registered...

My father could never understand those who look upon steam trains with nostalgia.” They never had to commute to London every day in summer with the carriage windows closed to stop the soot smuts blackening your shirts”

    A tad of mirth

And hears another won:) I take it you already know Of tough and bough and cough and dough. Others may stumble, but not you Of hiccough, thorough, laugh and through. I write in case you wish perhaps To learn of less familiar traps. Beware of heard, a dreadful word That looks like beard and...

Have you only got one 600mm rule? That is not enough. Go buy another one and the lost will immediately reappear.

    Coronated

Don’t you just love the fact that someone cares enough to write a whole paper on the subject. Why? There is no need to apologize ;) as we have all learnt something.
