• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    David Hockney RIP

@Accipiter - your father clearly was a talented artist. There’s nothing to forgive about your post 👍

    David Hockney RIP

In my opinion a very talented artist and great human being who didn’t take himself too seriously. A sad loss.

Nationwide have only given a commitment to maintain their branch network for the next three and a half years. It’s a great bit of marketing on their part.

Variety of homes in Sturgeon Falls

They have just started Duke. We’d planned to visit Boldt Castle but then realised my wife doesn’t have an ESTA to visit the US so after a few drinks I booked the helicopter tour which was brilliant. I hadn’t realised that the border was so convoluted as it weaves through the islands. I...

Variety of homes in Sturgeon Falls

I’ve just dropped the hire car off in Toronto after a circular trip of Gananoque, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and back to Toronto @duke. Much as I love the UK, Canada is blessed with many fine homes, views and breweries!

Recovering from an op- ideas of what to do?

I think I’d have a browse of the model shop websites (being careful what search terms I used 😉). There are some good kits for making detailed models of ships etc?

    AI for Technophobes

One of the differences between AI and the capabilities that came before it is that it can handle unstructured data. Five years ago the big thing was Robotic Process Automation which would take data from a specified field and act on it. This is now being replaced by AI which can recognise and...

    AI for Technophobes

I dont believe that is the case. AI is already replacing roles in customer services that were performed by people in the past. Professional services firms such as Accountancy, Legal and Actuarial are remodelling their businesses to reflect much higher levels of automation (fewer people) as are...

Well that’s another f&£king awful day!

This thread struck a bit of a chord. We’d taken the view that we wouldn’t get another dog. I was in the pub last night and chatting to a neighbour about her dog having had a litter of puppies. It was an interesting conversation when I got home at midnight and woke my wife to tell her I’d...

    Brace & bits identification

One of my neighbours has given me a brace and bits which she said was just cluttering up her garage. It belonged to her husband (she's in her eighties) but didn't know when he acquired it. I cannot see any makers marks and wondered if any of the old tool experts had any thoughts on likely age?
