• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Now for the Chairs

I think that counts as Occupational Therapy doesn't it?

Fantastic! My goodness, what an epic this build has been.

Agreed!

There's so much you've got right in that chair - the way you've picked out the boards with the best grain pattern to make it so satisfyingly symmetrical, the carving, the joints... Bravo!

But don't rush the finishing and upholstery just because we all want to see them. We'll wait patiently.

Thanks. There is still a lot to do. The last two need the corner blocks etc. Two sets of arms to carve, six shells to carve and then more sanding (there is always sanding). I will get the upholstery done professionally.

Superb quality work. It seems to me the upholstery is the easy bit for a man of your skill level!

I want to get on with other things Adrian, so I have decided not to attempt this upholstery.
I need to build wardrobes and my new challenge will start soon.

To mis-quote Elton John I'm still sanding after all this time. The good news only two to go. Then a bit of carving of the two sets of arms for the arm chairs and then more carving of 6 shells. In reality I had a diversion the last two or three week putting a new roof on. I am off abroad for work at the weekend for 11 days, so it will be mid September before I sand the last two.
