• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

So one plane that cut a tongue and a matching groove depending on which side you use. The lady wanted 100€ for the box, but that plane was the only item of interest and I didn't fancy paying that much just for that.

I thought it was interesting, I've never seen one before (but then hand toolery is not exactly my forté).

From a different débarras we found on the way to Roscoff for the ferry home. I hasten to add that I didn't buy this one but I thought I'd get a couple of photos anyway. I'm sure @AndyT has a pristine example of the same type of (tongue-and-groove) plane!

I've seen a couple of these on tool websites recently. I suppose that if you get one which is well made and set up, it might end up being a go to tool for T & G. What would be interesting to know is how it sits in the hand. The one that Andy has pictured looks quite wide. I wonder if that could lead to difficulty in keeping it laterally balanced ie the sole co-planar to the surface of the edge to be cut.
