• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Hello, good morning and welcome...

At the moment I’m sorting out a few things that have involved downloading apps the thing is all these companies give me a Q R code to get the app. Am I missing something but how can I scan the Q R code when I’m looking at it on the screen of the device I want to load the app to 🤷‍♂️

    Alaskan milling, ‘carport’, roof trusses

I can confirm being pinned to a trunk 25 foot up a tree with a chainsaw in your midriff held there by the branch you’ve just cut through thats swung into you via the tie in rope is no longer my idea of fun.

    Hello, good morning and welcome...

I called in my local corner shop the other day to pick up some tinnies, when I saw the amount of folks in the shop I nearly didn’t bother but a slurp was much needed so I proceeded to the fridge. On joining the back of a large long queue & realising it wasn’t moving I was about to return the...

    Yes another bathroom reno.

Always interesting to see how things work in different countries, many different approaches. I start on an en-suite tomorrow, I plastered out the room a year ago & it the intervening time the layout plans have changed so I imagine I’m in for some fun

How The Spindle Moulder Gained Its Notoriety

I don’t have a lot to do with tenoning heads, these are the biggest I’ve had dealings with. A mate bought them but they were for a 2” shaft so wanted a sleeve to fit them to his machine so he sent over the shaft off his tenoner & the blocks & we machined him a shaft up. I saw them in action a...

Continuous insulation, something I’m most impressed with.

It works really well Ian, I’d did the same many years ago on a chapel conversion all the external walls were wrapped & taped internally with insulation prior to a stud frame being constructed in front of the insulation to true up the walls. It’s a lot of work but definitely worth the effort

Well as I mentioned on another thread I picked up the donor plane off Andy yesterday at the handtool extravaganza & as I’ll be needing to use the plane in the very near future I figured there was no time like the present to get it sorted. As you can see from Andy’s photos above the frog &...

Love this time of year when the acers are coming into leaf I don’t know if it’s the frost free spring we’ve had so far but our acers are covered in flowers We usually get a few seedlings & this year is no different & whilst I know they don’t come true from seed they do make lovely...

    Click-to-fit floor tiles

I can’t think of any flooring that won’t be affected in one way or another by the ingress of water underneath it in large enough quantities or show under lying defects if initial preparation isn’t done correctly. The tiles you link to Steve look like click vinyl, I’ve fitted this sort of...
