• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months.     Great little project, Al, and a superb write-up as always. I put glue in the endgrain part of a joint, not with any great care, and not because it provides strength. I do it because it can act as a gap filler, and thus reduce any room for movement should the joint ever come under any strain.

    Great explanation, Peter. Thank you. That's cleared up my confusion. Clearly we need a soaker system. Rows of potatoes, sweetcorn, legumes, salad stuff....everything in rows...obviously lend themselves to a straight run of hose.

    I'm not certain about the terminology, Scott. We may be talking about the same thing. Basically small hoses with lots of small holes which gently leak water onto the ground adjacent to the plants.

    Yeah, OK..... But I think there are some practical issues, particularly around securing the vertical insulation in place. At the moment, it would need securing through the DPM (as would the box skirting).....and that effectively means the end of the membrane.

    I've just seen somewhere that they are planning to build one or two new 2 seater Spitfires from scratch. Much cheaper, apparently, than restoring old ones.
