• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Router Plane Modifications

It's a fun project. This is the one I did (not as good as yours Al, and I think I had to make every component at least twice:ROFLMAO:)

    Outside door frame - finished

To help me work out what dimensions of wood I need, I've drawn the frame in CAD. Here's the overall structure: At the moment, I've made the head from two layers of overlapping curves with 3 on the front and 4 on the back. My next job is to work out what width of wood I need to get the three...

Uses 'electrickery' so... Cross line laser unit

Go for it. I've bought a few things from Aldi/Lidl and they've mostly been really good purchases and, as you say, there's very limited downside.

Very short WIP - a simple clock

Very neat inlays. It looks fab.

    Outside door frame - finished

That was oak, which is a possibility. That photo was taken the day I installed the door which is why it looks good! That said, it is still doing well.

Just looked it up and that might be a fun joint to try!

    Outside door frame - finished

Thanks Mike. I'll look into what I can get. I wouldn't be averse to gluing up to get the size I need. I may need to do that anyway to create the arch (overlapping curved sections).

    Outside door frame - finished

In 2019, I made this door for a wall in our garden. This was actually the first proper woodworking project I did. Unfortunately the frame (which was on its last legs when I made the door) has now failed and I need to make a new one. I'll try to do a short WIP for this in due course, but the...

    Wedding gift table

I'd love to have a cranked paring chisel. I keep my eye out for them but I think they're quite unusual aren't they?

    Frozen shoulder.

I've had an impinged shoulder twice and frozen shoulder once. The impinged shoulders were easily fixed with the cortisone injection. Impinged shoulder is where the nerves and tendons coming out of your shoulder joint under the collar bone get pinched and swell up. Because they're swollen, they...

Praise where praise is due Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Glad you were given the all clear. I've had migraines most of my life. Mercifully, they have never been very frequent (two or three a year) and have got much milder as I've got older. Normal pattern nowadays is that I notice an aura coming on. Usually I notice first because I struggle to read...

The sides are dominoed. The top is just glued on because the ply is thinner.

A less sleek and gorgeous project: a box which will be a projector stand in our village church. The dimensions given to me were: the same as a kneeler but 3 kneelers high! Before finish: And after ebonizing! :ROFLMAO:
