• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

artists studio easel winding gear with trapezoidal threaded rod and cranking handle or wheel

If ever we needed a reminder , this is the value of asking others for their thoughts and ideas , I am now re-assessing my original idea and a max length of toothed rack of 500 mm x 15mm x 15mm will probably be the answer , unless I revert to studding which I have used for various clamps in the...

artists studio easel winding gear with trapezoidal threaded rod and cranking handle or wheel

Eric - thanks for that , actually I wasn.t sure about the word "trapezoidal" - I picked that up along the way - the window openers look interesting but none of them is long enough as I would be wanting at least 60cm but preferably 75/80cm . Windows . Problems were not long enough but also I...

artists studio easel winding gear with trapezoidal threaded rod and cranking handle or wheel

I want to improve my easel by fitting an inner frame within the existing main "H" frame which can be cranked up or down for height adjustment of my canvas . Some of the more expensive models available have a winding system but their pictures dont show enough detail . I consider myself a...

Advice needed - I need to make some dollshouse stair-rails , I imagine brass rod of about 2 or 2.5mm dia , horizontal top and bottom rails perhaps in slightly larger dia , say 3mm . Insulation for flat garage roof against summer heat

In my flat-roof garage I have my woodworking machinery museum ( on account of the fact that I rarely use it ) but in recent years the space has given way to serious winemaking . I have 140+ bottles on shelves , some will need to be stored for 5 years + . With recent sweltering summers my...

In recent times I have used Wudcare's instant grab PU glue which I have found to be very fast and especially good for mortise & tenon joints . However I need a glue with these qualities but which does not " foam" . I was trying to fix some small magnets into shallow holes but the glue was...

Dividing line between two halves of a semi-detatched house

Some time ago my adjoining neighbour built an extension on the back of his house . Timber-framed and clad in UPVC boards .
