• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Evolution R255TBL+ Table Saw

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/306370016040 It also has a thumbwheel instead of a screw which is even better. Seemed a bit pricey from the description but once fitted the quality speaks volumes

    Evolution R255TBL+ Table Saw

I got a zero clearance plate as a freebie option but havent used it yet. Ive read it still isnt quite as good as its supposed to be,with the 3d printed ones off ebay being better. I did buy a replacement mitre bar from ebay and its a vast improvement over the original item Also some blocks to...

    Evolution R255TBL+ Table Saw

I doubt either would be bothered about a minority of faulty units, Rog I would suspect you would be helpfully redirected back to the vendor, then an arbitration facility if that fails. Im sure Evolution would see sense if presented with some firm documented evidence

What type of joints should I use for this fish tank stand?

Ive been watching this from afar Its not an unknown situation It happened a lot on a beekeeping forum (that I abandoned after it became almost as toxic as diynot) where a newbie would want to embark on a journey off the beaten track ,refusing good advice that they asked for. The beauty of the...

    Evolution R255TBL+ Table Saw

Ditto- no issues It seems they were unprepared for the models popularity so a batch of substandard product got sent out ' by mistake' Id be more forceful with them.

    Workshed ventilation

If it were me I would have used a vpm in the construction. Its not impossible to remove the roof ( next summer) and lay some on battens. You would need only minimal ventilation, if any ,because the humidity will pass through it and cure the issue continually.

    John’s workshop

I also had a concern around the overall hight versus headrom but luckily it was on a slope so a little excavation got the project sitting below the surrounding ground level

    John’s workshop

My shed is on concrete pads- 10" cubic holes filled with concrete spaced around the floor area Floor joists held off them by galvanised brackets. I made good use of VPM throughout building the walls and roof so I now benefit from a bone dry working environment

    Curtain rail - fixing issues

Same situation, so I made wooden plates as a go between. The rail fitting hides a dirty great big screw that the masonry dare not argue with.

Not forgetting JIS A massive sales opportunity, in the previous century, for selling "allen screw kits" to Jap bike owners with mangled engine screws who were oblivious that the fasteners weren't actually phillips or pozi.

An opinion on German manufacturer attitudes.

The VW thing went beyond resting on laurels into full scale deceit with the emissions scandal. Even blue Bosch has the likes of Evolution snapping at its heels if some of the product reviews Ive seen are anything to go by. Cost cutting is inevitable of course. I have a Metabo metal cut off saw...
