• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Will do thanks Pete. Though a 4m blade might be above my needs 😄 and difficult to manage.

Couldn't joint the end to end grain (unless I wanted a substandard front side to the drawer). Added a couple of dovetail joints. Not the prettiest but they fit nice and tight. Rather happy and thankful that I managed to achieve it.

Oh wow. Tell him that is some amazing shots and shows how well he ventures out. Didn't know about that lake in Wales but have been riding around the Brecons. I got to page 5 but I think I'll login on the laptop and take em in properly. Thanks for this.

The roofers square (Hultafors) is actually currently my best square (after the small engineers square that only comes out for dovetails). Its a standard made in Poland (I think). I'll look at trying to get it more precise first 😀. "Don't waste your money", I do like the sound of that Sammy. Thanks.

I'm 21 years in. Its always a struggle, for her more than me 😆. But she has a super sharp tongue!! Anyway, thanks for sharing the work @Blackswanwood and I note you mentioned something like, Is there a faster way of carving them mice into the work or each one painstakingly time consuming! I...

Thanks Malc. Took alot of maths and an out of square, square (I'm gonna bin it soon and just use my roofers Hultafors, until I can save up for a nice shiny accurate one). Keen to make the second box alot prettier and managed to get outta bed early today to (almost) finish squaring the 3 sides...

Similar story to be honest here [or, 'here, to be honest' Shafiq]. I think I had excellent teachers through Junior and High School (right until the point where I became saturated and couldn't learn anymore, so became rebellious...) so never picked it up myself. Mrs Lindley when I was about 9...

The younger (in terms of date of production) but taller and hopefully prettier brother of this Duke. This next one will take my dried sycamore (well, it might get microwaved at aome point before use) in stood up lengths/blocks. First drawer box as pictured, had a 6 or 7mm ply base, recessed...

Not much, but it is to me. Thought it best to post it on here this time as they're probably sick of me and my jointing of late. I'm very thankful to God and all those that helped me get this far as I never ever thought I'd be making my own boards one day, without screws and that. Anyway, before...

Don't you just love correct gear. During Covid, on a respiratory ward. I too had the correct gear and there was a strict 'throughfare' to ensure none of the air from inside the ward travelled outside without first going through a neutral zone. ie. 2 doors closed before a third opens. I still...

@Accipiter it's my dyslexia (organisational difficulties, not spelling as such) and I tend to group certain names/subjects in the same band. I think I was referring to @Cabinetman regards the loft insulation @TrimTheKing that's amazing and well spoken. Partly one of the reasons why I've been...

Thanks for this @Trevanion and for me too it was irritating when it came into effect. Do we have the link for Mike's long running thread as I think I briefly came across it when the images were all down. If I can fix the problem for myself, then I'd be interested in watching his thread about sheds.

You read it wrong Accipter. I was referring to the other place as being the 'political' place and thus not wanting to mention it and get into trouble. Made sense in my head at the time. In any case, I'm sat with my dad (suffering self neglect, but managed to get him to shower this morning after...

That's me thanks @Accipiter spot on. Didn't want to mention 'the other place' and make it all political violence and the likes. I think I just like riding bikes now 😆 and phasing out that name.

Thanks you lot. Sorry for the double (and possibly, triple if I have done so previously) intro post. My wood working skills getting slowly better. I never thought I would make it through the moderators filters so had to double check the rules. Seem decent and straightforward, and I'll try my...

Small end table is on my to do list. Looks like one in the Pekovich book. The rocking chair, well I'll probably never ever get that good at this wood working lark.
