• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Extra Oak Shelf - Finishing?

Recently I purchased an oak bookcase - as my work working skills don't yet extend to total construction. I asked the vendor if they would sell me an extra shelf, as the items I'm displaying were too small for the 3 spaces as standard. They refused to sell me a shelf, which I thought was a bit...

    The Mews Cottage Workshop

Although I started my workshop / garage build some years ago, and documented it on the US Garage Journal forum, I thought it would be of interest to post a quick overview here, amongst other mainly UK workshops. This was the garage and workshop as found when I first purchased the property. It...

    Lightweight Paulk Workbench

Hi all. I'm really keen to build myself a modified Paulk type workbench, to be used at my local am-dram hall. I'm a bit tired of cutting timber balanced across a dustbin or on the stage edge. I reckon a smaller Paulk workbench is the way to go, but I've seen a variant that uses much thinner...

Bosch 18v Cordless Plunge Track Saw

There have been a few clues scattered about the internet talking about a forthcoming 18v Track Saw from Bosch: https://blog.naver.com/PostView.nhn?blogId=creep008&logNo=221474159216&categoryNo=0&parentCategoryNo=0&viewDate=&currentPage=1&postListTopCurrentPage=1&from=postView This is the best...

    Accurately opening out a hole

Hi, I have a wooden workbench, which oddly has 15.7mm holes in it, and this is not compatible with most fittings, and I'd like to use parf kit and hold-downs which are 20mm. How can I open out these holes accurately? If I try to runa 20mm drill bit into the hole it'll not run parallel. I'm not...

    Hi

Hi from me, Ian, just joined, my interest in woodworking started with building theatre sets, so if it looks good enough 20 feet away, its great! Branching out into shelves and storage in the home, so I really like the Kreg pocket hole system, and doweling. Cheers
