Lurker
Old Oak
Yes on the face of it quite mediocre item. Except I made this out of a scrap of laboratory bench just before I got married, so it has been in daily use for just short of 50 years.
Joint failed after her majesty put it in a cooling oven to dry and then forgot about it until the next time the oven was used.
Tidied it up the two pieces and mixed some epoxy with coffee powder to colour it.
Clamped it up but had a bit of trouble closing the joint. Couldn’t get enough pressure using quick clamps so out came the meaty g clamps.
Dried overnight and scraped the surface to smooth things out. Back in service now.
