• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Morning all. Anyone got a 700 they would like to sell on?

Thanks
Col

Sorted. That was easy!

Will do. Bit of a bone of contention at the moment though as it’s for a load of project on our new house, but the sale process is taking forever!

Steve I haven't got that far yet, but guess it will have to be done via pencil mark of the centre of the slot. I thought about indexing it with some type of pin in the slot, but realised this method would be open to many small discrepancies. Another discrepancy will be when the cradle needs turning to cut the adjacent slot.

I will try and remember to update you when I get the stock and make them……

OK, sounds like you recognise the pitfalls :)
If I may make a suggestion, go down the route of the pencil mark, rather than an indexing solution.
The latter is great if you can get it spot on, but any error or discrepancy is cummulative, which never ends happily does it? DAMHIKT.
Go for some sort of absolute position every time.
I look forward to seeing the finished project.

Here you go Steve.
Ended up using a pencil mark on the jambs and a reference point on the jig, was impressed at how accurate it was.
Also used the Domino to cut the mortises, new machine has a super indexing system so it easy to switch between full depth mortise and stub mortise.
