Drill Press Stand

Unashamedly taken from the internet, a stand/cabinet to take my little delta drill press and a little bench grinder. Included in the design are 5 drawers.


This time it's nice to let someone else work out the cutting list.

So, some ply arrived this morning. I used the aldidle tracksaw to cut it about in half (according to the cutting list)


And then rattled it through the iTech. The design uses pocket screw construction.

The 6mm is really nicely figured. The 18mm is B/BB so has a couple of blemishes on one side.

The plywood came from https://www.aspaving.co.uk. They set me up with a cash account at the start of my build and I've used them for all the basic stuff ever since. I ring them up or email them, most times they have delivered the next day, and sometimes, later the same day.

Very nice job, I like the handles. It would never support my old British made Progress number one though, it weighs two or three times most modern hobby drills! :lol:

Yes, I know it's a delicate little flower, but I bought a modern keyed chuck and that's improved it.

Ha! I suppose I'll have to promote Homebase no for cheap, snazzy, handles!

Well......this sawdust thingy. I've got the big iTech plugged into the table saw, I've got the Aldi plugged into the Kapex and I use it by hand for pocket hole and other drilling.

And like my old woodwork teacher told me, sweep up at the end of every day, and as the free floor space only comes to a couple or so square metres, that doesn't take look and when I've got a decent pile I let the iTech suck it!

No you haven't seen my bike! The engine, gearbox and spares are in two wheel barrows and the rolling frame is covered in tarpaulins and dust. Not a bit of chrome in site!

Well, almost.

Those gleaming handles come from Homebase (I think we've been through that before!)

Anyway, none of my local ones had any left. As we were visiting family in Chester at the weekend, we detoured via Market Drayton and I bought all their stock!

I am sure that there will be a good reason for the handle position on the bottom drawer of the LH cabinet.

Nope! None at all! Probably measured up from the bottom of the drawer the same on all of them.
