Morning all. Despite the workshop not being fully ready, time dictates the need for the first project to get underway.
I’m not in any way religious but my kids go to a CoE school and the church are very active in the community. Despite my lack of religious beliefs I very much believe in community and as such am very involved in the community events the church puts on.
The current one being, of course, Christmas Fair!
As well as volunteering on the day to dress as an Elf to escort Santa to the Fair and help with Santa’s Grotto, my general handyman skills put me in line for all kinds of other jobs.
This year my mate the sparky and I decided to jazz up the farmer’s trailer that we borrow for Santa to arrive on and see if we couldn’t make it a little more sleigh like.
I was left with 13 sheets of 12mm OSB that I mistakenly bought for roofing until I realised they weren’t within regs. I kept them to use for
building workshop storage and decided we could utilise a couple...
So, in 30 mins we’ve just knocked these out...
We’ve painted up another full board which will go along the back of the trailer with these sides along, the erm...sides! I’ll screw some battens along the inside bottom edge to rest on the edge of the trailer to screw it on, then drill a few holes in to cable tie it on so I can be re-used each year.
Another coat of red later on then white across the tops and some further embellishments and I reckon it will rock!
I’ll get some pics when we put it up on Saturday.
