• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Having posted a pic or two a while ago on FB of the 'Last Job of the Decade'
my cousin 'oop narth' in Preston asked if he could have one as well:

Nothing fancy; straight forward dovetails in quarter sawn oak with a quarter sawn oak lid, veneered base. I decided to mitre the corners on the top as if this isn't done, you end up with a little square hole each side which needs to be filled. Finished with three coats of Peacock Oil, two of Osmo-PolyX and a couple of applications of Alfie Shine - Rob
 
That's cute, I like it. Doing a stopped groove neatly is very difficult, so the mitred dovetail is a sensible alternative.

Preston? Has that re-grown? I nuked it after it tried hard to kill us on our Land's End/ John O'Groats bike ride 7 or 8 years ago.

Just oddments of oak that were loafing around, though I did have to slice a bit off a bigger piece to get the sliding lid. The same sort as in my box Andy though of a different type as he suffers from different ailments - Rob
