• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I just noticed a Lie-Neilsen 5 1/2 offered on the Jim Bode website for US $565. It's not bronze and doesn't look like a special edition or anything. The same plane is on offer new on the L-N website for US $425.

I can't work that out. What's going on?

Good job I'm not in the market for any planes!
 
I bought a nice Record No 6 from through Facebook Marketplace a couple of weeks ago. £75. Well looked after by a retiring carpenter.
 
Lie Nielson is frequently out out of stock, so the price reflects demand being higher than supply.

LN don't want to expand production. There have been a few articles about it.

I've bought Record planes at reasonable prices from a couple of the UK specialist dealers. Prices don't seem to have gone as mad on this side of the Atlantic.

There must be people who are prepared to pay an over the top premium because they aren't prepared to wait. I think I'd have a bit of patience.
 
look up the prices of old no85 scraper planes, wish I'd have kept mine! :shock:
