• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Slow progress...

Life just seems sooooooo busy, all the time, I just had to make a little time in the workshop to progress with getting it in a working state so I can actually get to the machines and surfaces without having to manhandle a ton of stuff out of the way.

This is VERY small progress and can barely be classed as woodwork, but it did fulfil its brief of cleaning up the benchtop a bit, and only took about 30 mins, so I'm happy.

The longer term plan is French cleats all along the walls where the benching is and have all this stuff on movable sections that can be arranged as required, but I can't get to the bandsaw to cut the cleats, so this is just screwed to the wall for now. I'm relaxed about this one though because I have an emergency stop button at the exit that powers every socket off except those 4 near the chargers, so I can ensure safety of visitors/kids by having no power to the big dangerous machines, while being able to charge batteries at just those sockets.

I can see 3 bits of wood and presumably 1 more screwed to the wall so that’s woodwork.
Satisfying and enjoyable to make progress after a long time away from the workshop even with the smallest jobs.
I expect you’re gearing up for christmas rush?;):)
