There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. Evening gents, my bandsaw is playing up, it’s switch was replaced many years ago by the look of it with a Crabtree unit. However over last 3 months i’ve had to strip it down 3 times and clean up the slide/contactor. To me it seems that the coil is overheating and distorting the contactor housing which then either traps it so it won’t switch off or means once its cooled it won’t slide back in next time i want to use it.

So a new switch assembly is needed, whilst i’m ok with pulling things apart and following instructions i’m at a loss when it comes to knowing what i need for a replacement ( the existing switch is no longer available). Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction, to me it looks as though toolstation or screwfix have the right sort of thing and that’d be convenient if possible, but no worries if not.

It’s a 240v machine.

Is it an independent unit (I.E. a starter box on the outside of the saw) or is it still running via the pushbuttons on the column? Likely the easiest option would be to get an inexpensive starter like one of these that matches the amperage rating on your motor:

I'm rebuilding an early 352 at the moment in my spare time which at some point in the past had been bastardised by someone who put a 1/3hp 1440rpm motor in it and tore out all the original switchgearing. Finding an original Danfoss switchgear or any other that's compatible with the pushbuttons and mechanical door interlocks isn't easy as they've long been obsolete, what I've opted for is remote buttons on the stop-start with a pushbutton that engages with the mechanical interlocks and foot break so that part of the machine still operates, all linked up to a contactor installed in a box in the base, with a 2hp 2800rpm motor replacing the 1/3hp.
 
When I replaced the motor my Wadkin table saw, I used a starter like the ones linked to, it came from Tool Station. They still have them but they are more expensive than the eBay ones.
I have not had a problem with dust getting into it and have added a second stop button on a lead so I can press it with my foot, no need to let go of the job.
 
I have had to blow the dust out of my orignal swtichgear on my 352 to get it working, its a shame its not avalable any more.

Good evening gents, many thanks for the pointers, as suggested i bought a prewired switch/overload from the auction site, got a bit confused wiring it in, did a bit of googleing and found some videos by “GSH electrical” , very well explained and demonstrated, now all up and running. It was necessary to fiddle with the supplied switch a bit as the internal stop button was not aligned with that on the box.
