• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Yet another hello

Hello,

Just a traveller amongst boards seeking the answers to life, the universe and things I don't know about (which to be fair is pretty much everything).

It's 42. Need you ask? :)

Welcome Toby.

3 Posts before I got 42 :-)

What is the question? I can't think of a woodworking one that fits the bill at the moment. Apologies to those that haven't read THGTTG.

No apologies needed, Toby and welcome to the forum.

The onlt thing you need to apologies about to a person who hasnt read thgttg is the fact they are heathens.

Welcome along, anyone seen a mouse recently?

It's hiding under the towel. I mean, you HAVE got a towel, haven't you?

Welcome Toby. I was going to ask what THHGTTG was. Then I thought about it for a while and thought I should ask a better question so I thought back to a joke I read the other day and a question I asked my mate Scottish Alex. We were in the pub and I was doing the crossword. Picture it. I know the pubs are shut. It's a joke alright.
"Alex mate. I'm stuck. 8 across. Starts with M. Ends with D. Eight letters big man."
"Oh aye, what's the clue?"

"Stuck on a desert Island."
"Easy! Marooned."

"Thanks!" I said. "I'll have a pint of guiness".

We just don't have a big enough selection of emoticons for that......

What’s that jumping marsupial called, slightly smaller than a kangaroo?

Miss Marple was in a compartment with her friend on the 6.30pm train to Bognor Regis, both doing the Times crossword. They could see seated opposite an elderly vicar also doing the Times crossword. Miss Marples' friend leaned over to her and whispered "I'm stuck on 5 Down.....the clue is "Definitely female'. Four letters. Something ..unt". "That's easy" said Miss Marple. "Aunt". "Damn" said the vicar scrubbing his own answer out.
