Doube handled hammer.

The place to talk about tools 'without tails', so come here with all your plane and chisel, burnisher and bradawl chatter.

The cynic in me says that it's listed at $110 starting bid, when the same hammer with one normal handle wouldn't fetch a tenth of that. Don't discount the possibility that it's purely done to make it unusual.

You do occasionally see double handled sledge hammers (with 2 sockets) which I think may have been used in ship making. Never seen a claw hammer like that and I doubt it is vintage either. Very unique is an interesting phrase. It's either unique or it isn't.
Don't like: wood, engines, electrickery, decorating, tiling, laying stone, plumbing, gardening or any kind of DIY. Not wild about spiders either.

Just a pricy joke I think. Not as good as the last one, Duff Donald the well known riot leader.

The hammer head is clearly very poor quality.
The handles are so thin at the entry point one or both would break. It's a dumb chancer trying his or her luck.

More like a chancer looking for a dumb buyer.

P.S. I have a rare left handed screw driver for sale, if anyone is interested.

Reminds me of Rob Lee’s April Fool’s day tools. Do Veritas still do one each year?
I do not think therefore I do not am.

I agree that it's a Ccc hammer head with someone's idea of a joke.

As Adrian said, double handled sledge hammers do exist. They were for really heavy work where the strength of two strong men was needed. Somewhere there's a great bit of 1900s archive film from the black country showing a ship's anchor being forged by hand, which includes shots of one in use. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit: discussed in this thread

Could you deliver them personally, I’ll throw in a long weight for your trouble.

Don't trust anyone who thinks 'very' and 'unique' belong next to each other.

If they are either a politician or a police/military person sack them immediately, as a precaution.

More intriguing is why you were searching for a double handled hammer.

I have an automatic search set up for "tools, job lot", and so I get to see all sorts of oddities, as well as all sorts of rubbish. I haven't bought anything for a long time.
