• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

So it looks like i will be purchaseing the aformentioned, it will need work to clean up and set up which isnt a issue as i work in engineering with mainly German & french machines (not woodworking machines) again i am struggling to find any info relating to this machine. Has anone have a manual or know where i can purchase one one, has anyone got one they use and of course how good are they. As i understand it it will be on wheels to aid workshop space.

scott and sargeant are showing a handbook for the 41 wonder if they are similar the 31 is not available , it is a planer thicknesser ? depends on the age of the machine does it have a spiral cutter block

Its a planer thicknesser i don't know about the spiral cutter block though i hope so as they are mean't to be a little quieter so i read. I will find out tomorrow so get ready for a lot of pestering? and pictures if i can load um up.

Did you mean the FS 30 or the FS 41 product line? I have the SCM Minimax FS 30G with the Tersa knives. SCM does not offer a mobility kit for the FS 30 line, but does offer one for the FS 41 line. I made a mobility kit for my FS 30G.

I will know more tomorow but its a FS31, i will post up some pictures then

I found this though it's for the FS35, not the FS31 which seems to be a much rarer machine.

I would send Scott & Sargent an email asking if they have a manual, they have one for the standalone F31 Surface Planer so they might have one for the FS31 that they haven't put up, or alternatively the manual for the FS41 they sell for £10 might give you enough information if it's just a case of it being a wider machine but identical in all other aspects. You could always send an email to SCM directly.

Hi I have an SCM Minimax FS350, which looks very similar, it’s a 12” Tersa planer thicknesser. Probably dates from around yr 2000 thoroughly brilliant machine, never missed a beat in the 18 years I’ve had it. If I had to criticise it, the only thing I can think of is a couple of the chip extraction parts are plastic and a bit prone to damage, but I have put a few Oak trees worth of timber across and through this machine.
I have the manual for it and will be back in the UK on Monday, pls pm me if you would like a copy doing, might not be the exact same mc but it will probably help.

I've got the fs41, I have had 2 of them. I have the manual if you need any information. I think the tables are the same length, just different blade width.

Thankyou there may well come a point when i could do with information.

Well i got the machine home yesterday and first impressions its a bit of a beast, I didn't specifically go out to buy this machine i went to buy bench saw from a chaps late fathers workshop and whilst in prior talks then seeing the machines i also added a spindle molder, fortunately there was room on the van so need to get the machines cleaned and set up correctly, the bench saw is a Kity 619 & molder Kity 1629.

To be fair the spindle molder wasn't on my shopping list (yet) it was just there, my thinking is if i don't use it i can always sell it as there are a lot of cutters inc unused in boxes and 3 blocks and one dedicated block/cutter not sure how to word it.
