• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

After the little discussion about aprons in Peter's thread, I thought I'd treat myself. I have two aprons. They are adequate, no more.
I couldn't find the Husdson one in France, but I did find this:

I bought it. The apron is excellent quality, apart from...

This is the view from the back on the listing:

And this is the reality:

That is at full capacity. If I breathe in, I can just fasten it, but it is not comfortable.

Now I know I'm a fat old beggar (though not quite as fat as I was a couple of years ago), but I am UK size 2XL, I'm not 6XL, I'm not a giant. For the sake of a few inches of webbing, they have made an otherwise fine garment into something that is unwearable.

Now the packaging was high-quality, which inspires confidence, because if a company wants to cut corners, packaging is first on the list. So I don't know why they have done this.

I'll probably keep it. I do have some webbing and I might be able to sweet-talk someone into fixing it for me.

It's such a shame.

I have relayed all this to the manufacturer, we'll see how they respond.

Typical sadly. My wife bought me a leather chef's apron for Christmas as few years ago. It was allegedly my size but in reality was made for a midget. Not cheap, and back it went.

Well, as I had already bought some webbing and clips to improve the other aprons I have and found to be disappointing and, moreover, was able to lay my hands on them, I have fixed the problem. I had to undo one little row of stitches and that was it. I am reliably informed by the Sewing Fairy in my life that "sewing webbing is really difficult...".
But this is the end result. OK, it's not colour co-ordinated, but it's comfortable. I can shorten it a bit, but it's handy to have a good handful to get hold of when I pull it to fit.

That kitchen cupboard needs an end panel Steve. Spidder hole!

The kitchen is coming out altogether and the sooner the better. It is the most unfriendly space I've ever had to work in. My kitchen in Kirkby was less than half the size, but was infinitely better.

Blimey, I hope not. It's been hard work getting down to my current weight. I'm a stone lighter than my all-time high. I do seem to have come to something of a halt though, but at least I didn't put on a single ounce over the C-word.

Steve, it looks a good apron even with a bit of an adjustment.

We need motivation not competition on the diet front

I've been wearing it today and I am pleased with it. Of course, the pockets are all different from my previous one, which was also different to the one before that, so there is a bit of ergonomic change to get used to. But I really like the shoulder pads and they stay put, I'm not constantly hitching them up as they slide off my shoulders. And while I've not yet tried it out, I'm pretty sure that mounting my microphone will be no problem.
