• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

After the roaring success of the ‘50’ marquee lights I made for TrimTheQueen’s birthday party last year, a good friend of ours asked if I would consider doing a ‘4’ to go with the ‘0’ for her 40th in May.

I had some annual leave to us up before the end of the FY so got into the workshop over the past couple of days and knocked up this bad boy!

I had a little issue with not quite enough ply to make one of the pieces due to having chopped most of it to size for making storage boxes prior to being asked to make this, so I had to improvise and joint a couple of pieces with the domino.

That's some nice looking ply.

Stick them on Ebay for rent, to help pay for the materials. Is something a little skewiff with the vertical? It looks in the photos (and I'm aware of how they distort) that the outside vertical piece above the cross-bar thingy isn't parallel with the vertical part of the triangle.

Haha yeah I think it has gone out a bit before I noticed unfortunately. It’s only out by less than 10mm from top to bottom but on one photo it looks like a lot more.

There’s always a mistake… 🙈

Re rental, we’ve just been discussing that over tea and coming up with a few potential options. EBay is one, a Facebook page another, and we also discussed approaching a local party supplies shop who supply (among a million other things) balloon arches for these kind of events (see pic below from my wife’s 50th.

Might see whether they’ve any interest in pushing them and agreeing a split of the take…
