• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Bench planer

Has anyone got a bench planer that they are willing to sell? There only seems to be the cheap 'silverline' plastic bodied ones on the market at the moment. I don't need an expensive one, I'll only be squaring off timber for joints. My hand planing skills are depressingly poor.

    Scored me some free wood

The power company were doing some repairs on the Trans Pennine Trail and cut down a Hawthorne bush for access. So I did what any respectable old Womble would do and repurposed it. A bit of band saw work and wax dipping has proved quite fruitfull.

How do I link a member in a post? Other forums use @username. I can't find a sticky about posting tips.

    Toilet roll holder plans

I'm struggling to find any plans or measurements for a toilet roll holder like the ones below. I can make one off the cuff but it usually takes 2 or 3 attempts of guessing and starting again. It might be a piece of cake to some of you but not me , with OCD.

    Eyup

Hi there. I originated from S. Yorkshire, N. Derbyshire border and ended up in Barnsley. Ah Well! I can't hand cut a straight line without a Japanese saw. I'm also a Wood lathe newbie and enjoying it immensely.
