• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

    Multimeter / s

It turned out to be just one wire popped out in a socket (house has a penchant for loose screw terminals it appears). Took another £300 to find the culprit and reissue certificate. At least I didn't have to wade through the tenants detritus myself.

    Multimeter / s

I had an EICR fail due to an open ring circuit. If I had known I could have checked and rectified beforehand. Im guessing they would put a meter on each end of the cables and test for continuity. Would my cheap meter have the oomph with its 9v battery or would I need proper kit? Could I have...

    The death of a tradition

I have part Scot and part welsh ancestry ( which explains the fiscal reticence and ,respectively, the prolonged bouts of stupidity) so inevitably was fed all sorts of offal and minced-up crap as a child. Good riddance🙏

    Dogs’ understanding of time

Used to have an almost telepathic Border Collie You could cast your eyes toward the item associated with an action or command and she would instantly comply. On one occasion I was in another room and just had the thought that it would be good to go for a walk.Seconds later she burst into the...

    Resawing thick timbers...

Being sans- bandsaw I would trial cut in exponential incrememts on the first piece If it feels ok then do the full depth. If that blade is nice and sharp its narrow kerf will not push back at you very much. Could you rig up a vertical support in the t-slots/ sled? What are falconry blocks?

    Its ok?

ITS tools - they appear to be ok on trusspilot but has anyone tried them? I found a bare dewalt combi drill on sale which equated to £40 delivered Really tempted but I stepped away from the edge as funds are tight for me at this time of year and I dont actually need another.
