• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Crikey Charlie, is it that time of year again?

Yes, "The Scroop" is upon us shortly with a delightful mix of looking at, talking about or buying tools.
The social side of this event shouldn't be underestimated either as its a wonderful place to catch up with old friends and make new acquaintances .
I'm hoping to once again be in attendance with a table display.
So, DON'T book your tickets, it's FREE
DON'T pay for your parking in advance, it's FREE
Light refreshment available but for those with a healthy appetite a pack up is recommended for when the event is over as eating often interrupts the conversation :LOL:
Cheers, Andy extravaganza-oct-2024.jpg

It's a bloody long way, but I'll be there if I can be.

I'd love to go but the 380 mile round trip is a tad too far. 🙁 I'll have to be content with Harrogate in November.

201 miles each way, all down the A1. In Saturday traffic. Nearly 8 hours in a car seat. Even if Lons and I shared the driving, it's as Mike says: "a bloody long way". I'd love to attend, put faces to names, but common sense tells me: " Wise up!".

It's exactly the same distance (just plugged the post codes into Google) from Salisbury on the M3, round the M25 past Thiefrow and then north up the A1. I'm sure the event is brill, but as for the drive there and back in a day I think I'd rather have root canal surgery - Rob

It's a great way to spend a day if you possibly can. Good company and a selection of the nicest possible "giftshops", with no space wasted on scented candles or teatowels :).

It's an inconvenient 176 miles from Bristol, but I'm in the Midlands every other week, so I've managed to get along a few times. But this one's in an odd numbered week, so I'll be in easy reach the week before and the week after, but not on the right day, which is a pity.

Maybe next time!

But what to take to display?
Always a dilemma.....
Be great to see you if you're in the area tomorrow.
Cheers, Andy
