• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

A bit of man sharing.

I'm bored.

I have always had a big love for Jaguar cars and I would like a Mk2 or 10 (or both) before I leave this planet. I've been the proud owner of 3 XJ's during recent years (still own one) and here is a small list of the saloon Jags I wish I had in my hanger full of precious cars.

First up, the MK 2 - just lovely.

Now the MK10. You can see how it's evolved from the MK2 and moving towards the XJ series - this one especially has an air of attitude. Simply beautiful.

Here is the Series 1 of the XJ line. Again, evolving from the MK10. Gorgeous motor John!

Series 2 - evolving more. What a beauty.

Now onto the XJ40. My first Jag was exactly this back in the 90's - British Racing Green XJ40 3.2 Sport. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of it, but this is identical to the beauty I had. I loved it with a passion.

And then the X300. This one was mine - the Executive 3.2.

I better go and make a cup of tea now.

Wot? No E-Types. How can you love jags but not include the most beautiful car ever made. :D

when my PBs hit the jackpot it will be first on the shopping list.

Oh & my interst in the Jaguar saloons begins and ends with Morse. Great car in the right colour.

Agreed, but apparently thrown together without much TLC - Rob

Well you can get a modern version with all the looks but updated mechanics and brakes for £400000.
Or settle for a new MGB for £100000?
Chap up the road from me has a XK150 - lovely looking car.
The new F Type SVR is nice too.

Chaps, the above are 'saloon' cars, not 'sports'. Okay, there's a 'saloon sports' in amoungst.

But indeed and agreed, the E-Type takes it all.

OMG - what a stunner!

And here's Endeavour Morse with his beloved MK2.

I almost swapped my old 911 Targa for an XK a few years back.

Some stunning cars there, Paul!!

I love the side profile of the E-type but always thought the track looked ridiculous with those bike wheels perched in the centre of the car.

I also have a friend with a fully restored 4.2 and the bonnet was one of the most poorly designed, lashed together pieces of metal ever built. It's gargantuan and at times feels impossible to true up and align. took weeks to get perfect. Some of the other enthusiasts said he was being overly picky and that within 1-3mm is ok, but once you spot a wavy uneven shut-line it just screams at you.

Anyhow, for (IMO) it's flaws it's still a true motoring icon and beautiful. :text-bravo:

Cheers Stephen. I wish I owned all the above.

Yes, I agree, those shut-lines are so important. My X300 has a slightly suspect shut-line to the o/s bonnet-wing. I'm pretty sure the o/s wing was replaced at some point. The front line of the wing above the headlamp should be inline with the bonnet and the wing is about 2mm behind the bonnet line. The driver's door also doesn't fully close properly. It's very very slight, but nonetheless, it is very annoying.
