• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Any scaffolders on the forum?

This has gone up by us recently. They plan to put a metal sheet roof on and then swathe the sides in plastic (?) to make it watertight.

Side-loading? Wind ? What should/can they do. There is a restriction as to what scaffolding they can fix to the existing structure (out of frame to the right)

To me that looks like something they call tenting, basically cover up the building before replacing the roof so it is always water tight and the work can progress without worrying about the weather. Is that old building derilect or fire damaged ?

Once they're wrapped around in a complete square/ rectangle, scaffolds are enormously strong and stable. This is obviously still under construction. Once it's finished, you really don't have to worry about it at all.

And he's the professional!

No3 has had his gaff in Brizzle wrapped like this for some time now, several months. He's on the scaffold as I type, fixing a 'Snagging List' problem. Says wind was/is horrendous, but he feels secure under the wrapping.

This was unfinished. Wrapping completed next day.
