are these tools good or scrap?

so a colleague of mine said he had some old wood working tools that came out of and house he bought to renovate. so i went round after work and had a look i bought them off him and got them back to my work shop. they are very rusty and need some tlc. purchased the lot for £200.

some advice if these are worth keeping or getting rid of.
They are covered in farm yuk so need a good scrub.

That's a cracking price for those, they shouldn't need too much TLC to get running sweetly. Multico stuff is actually rather nice and solid, they were considered a light trade machine back when they were made but compared to the stuff that Axminster sell now, the quality is far superior. I think that Wadkin saw is a Wadkin "Tradesman"? Not quite the same quality as their AGS saws but still very decent.

I bought a 12" Multico Planer for £400 in ropey condition, so your haul for £200 is a bargain!

I've got a manual for the planer photographed in its entirety if you want it.

What a bargain!

Have a Multico planer,it's smaller than the one you have, only 9 " but it's a really good machine.
I think I paid around £180 for it.

A good clean up and sort out the table saw motor and you have three very useful machines.

The cast iron alone might be worth that much in scrap value, you should be ashamed of yourself for taking the guy's eyes out.
I'll beat Marks offer and give you £250 as he doesn't have room for any more machinery. :lol:

That saw might need a 16 amp supply and nothing wrong with the motor, you should check the rating plate.

Did you get any bits for the morticer or the slot morticer on the planer?

An excellent haul Tim.
The motor fault could well be simply a failed start or run capacitor. That would cause an MCB to trip.
Worse could be an RCD trip as that would be an insulation fault but thinking positiviely, that could be a deceased insect nesting in the wrong place.
