• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Went to visit family for lunch today at a hotel a considerable drive away, parked in the corner away from other cars so my wife could feed our daughter before we went in. Came back to find a camper van parked ridiculously close to my drivers side (to his drivers side). Saw a ding in my door which was white, the same colour as the camper and lined up with how their door opened. Really annoyed but can't do anything because in theory someone else could have done it and driven off then this guy parks there and gets the blame.

However...

My wife just feeding our daughter again before we head off and the owner of the camper van comes back, we are sat in the car with the windows down and he squeezes down the side of the car knocking the wing mirror with his gut and proceeds to open his door into mine again!

Give me strength!!

Over 50 years of driving I have noticed significant deterioration in driving standards, behaviour with little or no courtesy given, whether on the road or in car parks (and to a certain extent that applies to some cyclists as well). It's a sad indictment of today's 'me' society that leaves you with damage to your property that just happens to be a car.

I'm sorry you've had to put up with such and ignorant git!

Cheers mate, if there is any such thing as Karma (and i like to think there is) he will get pulled and breathalysed with any luck and hopefully before he causes an accident.

I too have noticed in my somewhat shorter period driving a deterioration in attitudes to driving, but then thats probably me getting older and turning into a Dad!

I think it's a result of the massive amount of cars purchased on finance. It's so easy no one takes any care of them as its going to be replaced in 3 years.

My beef is the local Bradfords. Two Disabled spaces clearly marked by the front door. Always used by white van man. Almost wants me to take a crowbar to their kneecaps and then ask them how they like being disabled. Bradfords just shrug their shoulders.

I've had my car scraped twice whilst parked - one was a Tescos quite early in the morning with very few cars present and I'd parked a long way from anybody else - came back to find the rear bumper had been bashed.
Also the parking bays are much smaller - the standards used to be 2.4m x4.8m, now you can hardly fit a car in between them!

never had a bad one though ?

oh, wait ..

I think It's the cars getting bigger not spaces smaller! A lot of supermarkets use 2.5m now but many of these huge fashion 4x4s are about 0.5m wider than our Morris Minor!

I shall have to measure a few to check them out - Sainsbury's 2.35m
Winchester Hospital 2.3m

My car measures 2.089m (wide) and 1.881m with mirrors folded.
Often cars are not parked in the middle so the gaps can be very tight!
