• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I have occasionally used bed bolts with their round nuts, this was usually when they were supplied with a product.
Is there an economic source of the round nuts for this purpose please.?

I bought some years ago when I made a bed, can’t remember where from though. How many do you need?

'Half Moon Bed Washers' search on ebay gets loads of them and threaded (nuts) versions too.

The screwfix ones are cheap, useful and strong but they are smaller and seem to rust solid after they have been assembled for a long time.

Yep I used the half moon ones but I guess it depends on the requirement as to whether them or the round ones are required.

Thank you for your helpful replies and a a special thanks to Mark for your offer. The ones flagged up at screwfix seem to fit my current requirements.
I am building a small col frame and the bed bolts would help making it more rigid. As I will be using glass and not polycarbonate sheets I feel it needs to be fairly rigid.
Thank you

Barrel nuts are becoming a preferred method of connecting guitars' and ukuleles' necks to their bodies.

I used them on two of mine and they came out well.

I have always googled barrel bolts and the usual suspects to appear are the Veritas ones with an eye watering price. I googled cross dowels and they appear everywhere. Screwfix are the most convenient to me and I can do a click and collect when I am in town.
I also am a fan of copper grease, saves a few sweat words.
