• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

How's this for a tom ! 620g - the coin is a 1€ piece, near enough the same size as a £1 coin. The variety is called Cornue des Andes here, I grow it alongside Coeur de Boeuf and some cherry toms for salads.

A whopper!
Does it taste as good as it looks

I gave up on growing large toms as the yield per plant I reckon to be too low. I only grow cheeries from plants raised from seed. side shoots used as cuttings for a later crop. I have 8 plants in the polytunnel which have kept us supplied since mid june. In a good year we still get some into november.

Can the plant support the weight or do they sit on the soil?
I gave my two youngest Granddaughters a grow bag and a tomato plant each - they've done really well this year against a south facing wall. Loads of nice tasty ones.

What with one thing and another, we put our tomatoes in about 2 weeks late this year.............and have just picked the whole crop to make green tomato chutney! Only two ripe tomatoes this summer, despite them being kept in a greenhouse. If they're not ripe now, they never will be. When I think of all the hours of fetching and carrying water......
