• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Well, here’s a thing.

Dishwasher lunched itself on Christmas Eve. Not a big difficulty, only the two of us (and the wonderhound). We’re using all the silver and crystal, so it is predominantly hand wash any way.

So. I took the dishwasher out today in preparation for a new one.

I find that the work top is supported by a broomstick and some non-folding, non-wedges. Thus:

None of it is fixed either. Just jammed in place.

Now I know no one has ever said, ‘oh the previous occupiers were wonderful, we haven’t had to change a thing’.

But really.

I don't see your problem. Surely your man washes these ?

Good lord, no. A gentle person’s chamber attendant is not required to attend to matters of that sort. There are butlers to attend to the plate, and maids and other staff to take care of the rest.

Actually, I’ve not had servants since Cairo. Not sure I miss them either.

At least they put a couple of supports in it would have been worse if they hadn’t even if they aren’t pretty, I’d be more concerned about the unsupported waste that appears to be back falling.

When we acquired our bungalow, I took up four layers of carpet one on top of the other.
I think it was to soak up the leak from the toilet bowl that had been fitted wrong.
I needed to replace two square metres of floor boards too.
I threw away all the clothes I was wearing after stripping that lot out.
