Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Mission Control wrote to Santa to say that she's been a good girl this year and she would like a 'tidy' to keep all her knitting bits and bobs next to her while she's knitting. (She's pretty good. A recent post showing a knitted doll and changes of clothes for a young Great Niece of ours got over 150 likes and more than 60 positive comments.)
So the little elf nicked a design off the inter web and started using some of Coley's dog ends of oak.
He just likes that blue tape. It stops the wood surface getting blemished and he can mark all his dimensions on it without pencil or ink getting in the grain.
Then it had to be drilled.
And routed.
And the edges rounded over.
Just the oak pillars to be fitted into the corner holes and then a beeswax finish tomorrow and the little blighter can wrap it for Christmas.

But the idea is that the holes can contain anything to do with knitting, needles, scissors, pen to tick off the row on the pattern, pins of all sorts etc., even her spectacles!

Mission Control commissioned me to make a bookcase for No2 grandchild who is mad about dinosaurs. She found a series of 80 books in a charity shop and wanted a book case for them. (They're the books that you subscribe for £1.99 per week till you get the lot!)
I had some mdf left over from another job. I still use biscuits. Can't justify a domino.

No, Andy. It's going in a 4yo's bedroom. I didn't want a gap that stuff could roll under and it's heavy with the books in, so I thought it would be more stable with a flat bottom. (Bit like me!

Fair enough Malc. I am so used to put everthing on feet even if just small rubber cups as we have solid floors thoughtout here. On Carpet it is less of a problem.

A couple of bits of plywood, some shaker pegs and wooden beads off the interweb and you have an egg holder.
