• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Coaster holder

I rediscovered those coasters, having not seen them for decades, as I was clearing out my parent’s house last year. They must be quite old as they are not plastic but metal.
Looking at those images I think I can make a better job of the access slot.

I bet no one else in your house thinks that Andy.

Nice piece of beech btw, I though it was olive when I first saw the pic

A coaster holder thingie is in my 'umble opinion, quite a tricky thing to make as the internal shape needs to be flat, with a 90deg corner, plus there's the access slot. I've done one and it took a greater time than I thought it might - Rob

Flat scraper used to to keep the inside flat and a 90° corner.

Defo beech as I cut it myself in 2016 and one of the rare pieces that I actually labelled.

The coaster holder is nice but I would do some research on those old coasters. They might have enough collector value to make selling preferable to using.
