• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Does anyone have a few (four at most, length about15+mm) soft iron countersink rivets that they could spare? The reason is that I want to replace the adjustment lever:

...on the Record No.4 I got hold of yesterday. They'll be used to rivet a disc of steel on the end that engages in the cutter slot; also for a circular disc on the underside at the other end. I used to have a few of these things lurking in odd drawers in the 'shop but alas no more; a thorough search fell on 'stony ground'. TIA - Rob

If you can't find any manufacured rivets, ordinary round wire nails are ideal. The mild steel is tough enough but easy to peen over or spread into a tapered hole.

A few years ago I needed a lot of soft iron rivets for my Deckchairs, I looked everywhere without any success, don’t seem to be a "thing" now. Ended up with time consuming small coach bolts and nylock nuts sunk in recesses, it was extremely inconvenient! I know that’s not any good for you lol

That's useful Andy, thanks. I think I've got something suitable in the 'shop, so I might have a little play tomorrow - Rob

Turns out that they were not cs.
You are welcome to both or either.

Thanks for the rootle L, but I need it to be a flush fitting on both sides, so your rh rivets aren't of any use for this application...but thanks again for the delve :D - Rob
