Old Oak
I've been on them (Rivaxaban) for a couple of months or so because of my A-fib and never thought much about it, what a fuss putting a card in my 'phone wallet etc.
Last Wednesday morning I got a nosebleed, no warning and I'm not prone to them, bled like a tap and I just dismiised it but after 2 hours of trying everything to stop it I was dragged kicking and screaming by my wife to the hospital A&E walk in centre. By the time I was triaged it had just about stopped but that was well over 3 hours and a hell of a lot of blood, half of which I swallowed - YUK. Left with a dire warning to go straight to A&E if it bleeds again for more than 15 minutes.
I felt a right twit going to hospital with a nosebleed but not having previous experience of blood thinners it's opened my eyes a bit.
