• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I got a letter today notifying me that my pension is available to me from August 2015 and what were my plans for it of course. I was a little puzzled as I seemed to remember when I initiated the policy I gave my retirement age at 60 thinking I would be able to retire a few years earlier than the then usual 65. I was unsure why they would allow me to take my pension at the age of 58 until I made a calculation from my birth date of 1955........I am 59 not 57! :shock: Where did those last two years go?? I can only put it down to the onset of Dementia! :oops: Either way I still can't afford to retire yet and think I will be working my way into my box. :roll: No wonder I get so many aches and pains after a days work! :lol:
 
Good year for being born 1955.

Seeing the number 60 on the birthday cards a couple of weeks ago was not so good though.

I had a company contact be about a pension from a place I worked for 2 years at the end of the 70's . Impressed that they found me though when I found out what is due I wonder why they bothered :)
 
Don't worry Alan, we have a certain moderator here who got his age wrong too and was a year out in his pension calculations.
Aren't you glad to know that control of the forum is in the hands of such folk?

1955 was a very good year, I came quite early in the year.
I too have been contacted and am well pleased to be receiving a pension from a previous job.:D
 
Heh - in 20 years time, when you are sucking soup through toothless gums and looking over your shoulder for the grim reaper, think of us just beginning to draw our pensions with a long retirement ahead of us :lol:
