• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

My suggestion for the 2028 olympics. All you have to do is get from an armchair to your own front door before some moron throws your parcel over a neighbours gate or fence. Training is not going well so far for me!

I've found the trick to be sitting in the front room so that you can see the car pull up and get to the door before they have a chance to ring the doorbell. Unfortunately this is not conducive to getting anything else done that day.

We were expecting a parcel this morning. Checked the live tracker to be told we were 9th in the queue eta 9.50. Checked position on the live map. The parcel was showing as being just south of the equator in the middle of the atlantic ocean and our location as La Rochelle.
He still made it by 10am which I thought was quite impressive considering the distances involved.😀

Too damn hot here ☀️

Evri get slagged off a lot but for me they are a better service than not at all "royal" mail. The drop off for sales is really quick and easy, and the guy who delivers to us is excellent and I've given him several 5 star reviews.

OOH! I'll give that a go as Evri are due to deliver this afternoon.

I can't agree with you Adrian, Our posties are excellent and few months back delivered prescription meds when they were supposed to be on strike.
Even better they don't send emails with "how did your delivery go?" messages.
Only used the collection service a couple of times but that worked flawlessly too.

The sad reality these days is that all the delivery companies are essentially the same, and the level of service you get from any of them is completely dependent on the individual courier(s) that run your local route. The old-fashioned idea of consistent brand service standards has gone out of the window in favour of who can mark the most jobs completed in the shortest time.

Where we are, they're all fine. None stand out as better, none as worse; the only noticeable difference is in how well the online tracking works, on the rare occasions I feel the need to follow it.

Our Evri drivers, there are two are both excellent as is our regular postie. In fact we haven't had issues with any deliveries for some time. I sent a DeWalt grinder back for warranty repair, collected on time via UPS and delivered back yesterday with the same friendly efficiency.
I guess you're either lucky or not.

I had the email saying that the times for the delivery, they came and went, no sign of the parcel. Then I get an email saying it's been delivered. I checked out side the front door, behind the back gate, no sign of it.
Spend ages waiting for someone to answer the online chat, to be told it has definitely been delivered, so I say where as I don't have it. The chap disappeared for ages and then said the delivery picture shows it over the front door step. I asked for the picture, and there was my parcel going in to my neighbour, I recognised the door mat.
Frank my neighbour was expecting a parcel for his son, also a Dave so had taken it in without checking the address label.

I generally have no problem receiving from Evri as our main deliverer (Louise) is excellent, and both our regular RM Posties are excellent too. Evri did however lose a parcel of mine the other day though. I'd sold something on eBay, printed the Evri label and affixed onto the parcel then dropped into the local Tesco drop off point.

Receipt obtained, all good, until...Couple of days later buyer contacted me as tracking still showing as awaiting collection. Sure enough it was, I chased and checked with Tesco to see if there had been any delays in collection but no. It's gone, over 10 days now and still showing as awaiting collection. I've lost the sale and the package, and Evri don't make it easy to claim.

Still working on it.
