• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I noticed some meaty f clamps this morning.
Not as cheap as previous offerings, but they looked better quality.
I was tempted but I think I have enough already. :D

What? You've got enough clamps? Jim.......are you feeling OK?

Aldi have them too - almost identical. They are pretty solid and I bought all the larger sizes they had in Lidll and Aldi, which was not many. The small sizes are not much use I find - they don't open wide enough. These are a bargain I think.

Rest easy folks, I have a batch of luthier type clamps in production at the moment :D

I have put these to one side as I am in Christmas present mode, just turned the bases for five pincushions.
This started out as one for the DiL, but her majesty kept appearing at the workshop door ordering more for her friends. :eusa-doh:
Then I have darning mushrooms to turn…….. And a finial for BiL summer house.

I bought about 15 of them last year, believe it or not I need a few more so thanks for the heads up.

The solution is not to show her what you're making.
I did that once with pens and she took some in to work and came back with orders for 26, all promised within a few days. :eusa-doh: She isn't allowed in the workshop now.

I've had the same problem Bob although not in that volume fortunately. A colleague in her office when she showed him one of my reject Celtic knot pens found it hard to understand why I was not interested in making them for sale.

I did sell quite a lot Andy and they paid for a new lathe but quickly got fed up as it's not enjoyable when it becomes a production line.

I set up a website at one stage but dropped it though I retain the domain name and did consider craft and Christmas fairs but never got around to it.
These days I just faff about with various projects that often don't get finished.
