• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Fascinating and talented workmanship

I've read a few posts of his, while the work is very good, I can't stand what he writes as he comes across as very pretentious towards other posters sometimes. Perhaps it isn't his intention but I get "Look at me and my enormous brain" vibes from each post.

There are a few newish posters there now who I can't stand reading, combined with threads of very little interest to me so I very rarely look at the site.

Snap especially with the thinly vailed racism, sexism and homophobia that seems to be accepted. But thats enough of talking about the place. Lets park it and if you feel the need to vent you can PM me, ill be happy to talk. :obscene-drinkingbuddies:

The quality of his work is high, and he is clearly an enthusiast and knowledgeable. He's worked and studied in some places that I also rate (such as the Weald and Downland Museum) and has an interest in historic joinery (as do I). Hence I can overlook quite a bit as the positives outweigh them. He is possibly on a bit of an ego trip, but may well be quite young. He can certainly set out and carve.

Yes, I can’t remember what it was but he put my nose out of joint once. It is quite noticeable that the number of regular posters has diminished, along with the level of knowledge and expertise.
