• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

From the Misty Mountains of the West, Greetings!

Hi -I'm Martin, 74 years of age.
Took up woodwrecking as a retirement hobby about four years ago but cancer soon put a stop to that and I'm only now beginning to get going again.
I'm located in Pontardawe in the glorious Swansea Valley in South Wales (SA8).
So far I seem to be making mostly book rests of various kinds - a few to sit on the table while I eat (can't eat without reading at the same time, it's not natural!) and one oak, ebony and brass cookery book stand as a gift.
No pics unfortunately - I didn't have the foresight!
Like many here, I'm a migrant from the Other Place.

My other hobby is amateur radio - I've been licensed since 1965, callsign gw3ucj.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum, we will let you off the pictures, but only this time!
Any dragons in those misty mountains?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

I'll be sure to take pics of my next bookrest - and of any dragons that I come across (JKR was wrong, our dragons are red, not green!).

Martin.
