• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

Just staring blankly at the 'instructions'. I use the term loosely as they are only pictures but there's a load of settings to be worked out. When did toilets get so up themselves with complexity.

Has anyone fitted one, please, and can enlighten me ?

Doh....just asked ChatGPT. Damn good starting point but all help still very welcome

I know what you mean, Roger. I've started to make my kitchen drawers using Emuca kits. Decent quality, but ZERO INSTRUCTIONS. Nada. Zilch.
There are some animated videos online which show you how they are assembled, but not HOWTO MEASURE OUT for that assembly. Plus I got two pieces "clicked" together and it took me nearly an hour to find out how to Unclick them. Very easy once you know how, but impossible until that point.
And you think today's crossword was hard.

Can’t help Roger with that particular make. I did get so fed up with the plastic gubbins on a similar device getting furred up with the hard water we have here that I replaced it with an old fashioned ball cock.

Roger... I did a Google search and got some 'guides' but it ended with this (before I copy/paste the rest):

"For detailed manufacturer installation notes and documentation, consult the Geberit Installation Notes. For step-by-step guidance on changing out these specific parts, refer to the National Shower Spares Installation Guide.

Could you tell me if this is for an exposed (ceramic) cistern or a concealed (in-wall) cistern? This will help determine how you need to adjust and cut the flush rods for the push button.

I'll copy/paste the 'guides' in the next comment

Trying to copy/paste pastes as gibberish... probably best to search for "Geberit Type 240 and Type 340 valves" to get the listed information/bold text...

Apologies Roger... you may already have seen this - and other - vids on YouTube but wondered if this would help? Funnily enough this video is on the (above) link to the National Shower Spares Installation Guide...

Thanks Frank but that link quickly goes back to the standard (and frankly useless) video.

I think Geberit need to rebrand as Gibberish’s

that I replaced it with an old fashioned ball cock
Always a good idea to keep things simple, a ball cock is basic and been around for years whilst all these new fangled toilets with fancy operating ideas can become very expensive to fix. Also whilst we are here has anyone questioned why some toilets are square, you get a lot of rounded rears but as yet never seen a square one !

Also if fitting a close coupled cistern then make sure you use a flush syphon that can be partially removed to fix without having to remove the cistern to get at the retaining nut, saves a lot of work.

Best out there is
