• Hi all and welcome to TheWoodHaven2 brought into the 21st Century, kicking and screaming! We all have Alasdair to thank for the vast bulk of the heavy lifting to get us here, no more so than me because he's taken away a huge burden of responsibility from my shoulders and brought us to this new shiny home, with all your previous content (hopefully) still intact! Please peruse and feed back. There is still plenty to do, like changing the colour scheme, adding the banner graphic, tweaking the odd setting here and there so I have added a new thread in the 'Technical Issues, Bugs and Feature Requests' forum for you to add any issues you find, any missing settings or just anything you'd like to see added/removed from the feature set that Xenforo offers. We will get to everything over the coming weeks so please be patient, but add anything at all to the thread I mention above and we promise to get to them over the next few days/weeks/months. In the meantime, please enjoy!

I was a member of The Woodhaven (my user name then was Diy Stew) I've been meaning to rejoin but never got round to it.
I was a Fireman for 24 years before being pensioned out with back/spinal problems, I also suffer from severe to profound hearing loss, I wear a hearing aid in both ears, TBH the right ear is completely shot, because of my back problems I don't spend as much time in my garage/workshop as I would like.
I'm married with two married daughters, each have two children, Eva 8, Harry 3, Finn 2 and Toby 1 week, I like to think I'm head of my extended family but I'm not, yes you've guessed it, it's Eva who rules the roost!
Likes - woodwork (obviously), spending time with the family, helping others less fortunate than ourselves. A good laugh (I have a bit of a warped sense of humour at times, mods please note, I will be a good boy)
Dislikes - bullies, anyone who abuses or takes advantage of vulnerable people ie the elderly, the disabled and children, politicians (I hope it's aceptable to say that), and last but not least Mobile Speed Cameras!
Whenever I start a project I take pics, but then I forget so I've never done a WIP progress (although I do like reading them), this will change, hopefully.
And finally, I can go on a bit.

Hi ya Wood pile

I am to new to say welcome as it seems you are old stock.
I wonder if civilian service is similar to military? If this this is the case you missed out cynicism, you know the thing that grows in proportion to age.

best wishes
Richard
